Results:
Ovulation Phase : When a women is most fertile and most likely to conceive, her saliva will dry in fern-like patterns (see diagram bottom left).
Transition Phase : The picture is mixture of fern and bubbles or spots, during which the possibility for conception still exists (see middle diagram).
Safety Phase: During non-fertile days, the pattern is random, and unconnected dots appear (see below diagram, at right).
Important:
Your saliva sample can be affected by:
Smoking
Alcohol
Medication
Toothpaste
Eating
You should not use the IsisScope until 2 hours after doing any of the above.
If absolutely necessary, cervical mucus can be substituted for saliva since both substances give identical results. Results obtained during menstruation or pregnancy are not for reference.
